My dear Miss Addams,

I cannot let the day pass without writing you to say how I was uplifted and inspired by your words last evening. All this sad year I have felt that nothing was seemingly [page 2] [worthwhile] but what you said last night has helped me into another tone of mind -- into a more hopeful state of mentality. You were soul satisfying and great in your simplicity, and I felt while listening to you how true it is "that God does not leave himself without a witness in this world."

I am, with sincere and grateful appreciation for what you have brought to me, yours faithfully

Ellen M. Henrotin
