My dear Dean Briggs: --
I promised Mr Haskell of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace <you, I think,> that I would write you concerning my eastern engagements.
The Endowment has made an engagement for me to speak at the Vesper Service at Smith College at a quarter to five on March 7th. They have also made an engagement for me to speak before the Harvard Union on March 8th. I do not know the hour at which the lecture is to be given but imagine that it is to be in the evening. If you would like me to speak at Radcliffe on the 8th I should be glad to do so if the time does not conflict with the Harvard Union.
I have also written my friend Elliot Smith in regard to speaking before the Harvard Law School which I promised to do some time ago, and he will doubtless see you in regard to possible dates.
Thanking you very much for your long courtesy in the matter, I am
Sincerely yours,
