My dear Mrs Dewey
It is very kind in you to remember my hopes of some day attending one of the Lake Placid conferences — which have always seemed to me to be [all?] [illegible] for gatherings which really confer. I am so sorry to be "full up" with engagements for that week, two commencements, and one Chautauqua address. May I tell you how pleased I am that you wanted me to come and may I express my thanks as well as my regrets to Mr Dewey and yourself.
Faithfully yours Jane Addams
