My dear Miss Abbott:-
We were greatly disappointed to hear from you that there was so little chance of our having Miss [Addams] with us this year. If there should be later any possibility of her stopping at Poughkeepsie, will you not let me know? If she could combine a talk at the college with one to us in town, we might, perhaps, have more chance together. At all events, if there were the smallest likelihood of her being able to come to us, we should do everything in our power to plan a meeting.
