My dear Sue

I have been trying more or less steadily to telephone you, for the last twenty four hours but have finally given it up as impossible.

I wanted Mrs Lingle, Catherine and yourself to come to lunch today at Hull-House. Won't you call me up to see if we can make some other [page 2] appointment. I shall want surely to see you again before you go.

I ought not to have depended on the telephone so long, but the "repair dept" as well as the "manager" insisted that it was not out of order -- H. P. 5820.
