Your telegram about Mary has just come and filled us all with consternation. Of course you cannot think of traveling until she is over the fever stage. I had a little hope from your last letter that you might arrange matters with Mr [Heckel]  a Kansas City position would seem to me quite ideal, you would not be so far away and would have very much better social and educational conditions.
