Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Ill.

My dear Miss Addams: --

I enclose a renewal blank which was not sent to you earlier this year on account of your absence in Europe.

The Association is threatened with a deficit of $5400 at the end of this fiscal year (Dec. 31, 1913), and the Executive Committee will greatly appreciate it if you can suggest three of four persons who might be willing to contribute, and with whom we might use your name in writing. If you could speak to them personally, I am sure that would be much more effective.

Hoping that we may have your [cooperation] at this critical time, I am,

Sincerely yours,

Secretary.
