My dear Miss Coman: --
I think it is quite fine that you can give your time to the Progressive Party. I am going on to New York next week to be there the ninth and tenth, and I hope then that the first organization will be begun. I can think of no thing finer than that you should be willing to work on our committee. May I write you immediately upon my return when the plans are more matured.
I think I won't run the chances of having the books sent to the steamer as there is just the least possibility that we may not get away after all owing to some complications in Miss Smith's family. I should be delighted to have your new works sent to Hull-House where I can pack them safely into a steamer trunk. We expect to sail on the 18th of February.
Hoping very much that you [page 2] are feeling better, and with much pleasure over your offer, I am
Jane Addams. [signed]
