Miss Jane Addams,

Hull House,
Chicago, Illinois.

Dear Miss Addams: --

You will possibly recall my having met you on the occasion of the last Annual Meeting of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

I write to express my gratitude to you for the firm stand you have taken in the National Progressive Party for human rights, without discrimination of race or sex.

I am heartily sorry that the dominant influence which prevailed in the forming of the Party's platform, excluded your plank touching upon the right of suffrage for colored men in the South as in the North.

The morning papers intimate that you will continue to act a prominent part in forming the policy of the new party. I am sure, with your insistence upon righteous actions, of those with whom you are associated, you will finally triumph.

I hope you may be spared with many years of activity and usefulness. Believe me,

Faithfully yours,

N. F. Mossell [signed]
