Biographical Text

Eugene Theodore Lies was a student at Cornell University and began his career as a social worker after his graduation. Over the course of his life, Lies was linked to a number of charities and organizations that focused primarily on community development. He was vocal in promoting the work of charities and the importance of supporting them. His last project before his death involved taking a survey of recreation centers in cities across the country. Lies was involved in the Urban League, as well as the Tucson Council of Churches.

Lies married Emily Lies in 1901. They had two children together. Lies died in 1954.
