Biographical Text

William Lester Bodine served as a principal in schools across the Midwest. He later became the Superintendent of Compulsory Education in Chicago, lasting 47 years. He was an advocate for the education and welfare of children. Bodine died in 1951.

Bodine married Mae Bodine in 1890. They had two children: Helen and Robert.
