FINDS PEACE TREND
Remarkable Progress Over Militarism Reported to International League
Remarkable progress of the peace movement over militarism was reported by Jane Addams, international chairman of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, when she addressed the Pennsylvania branch at the second monthly meeting yesterday afternoon at headquarters, 20 South Twelfth street. Mrs. Philip Kind, Pennsylvania chairman, presided.
India, Miss Addams explained, is striving for self-government through their constitutional movement, and this is a tremendous peace movement.
"Gandhi believes, in this efforts to bring about a peaceful revolution," Miss Addams said, "that [non-cooperation] is a wonderful political weapon. His appeal is a spiritual one and all through the East people are touched by it."
