My dear Miss Surles:
I should be very glad to have the $8.00 which I forwarded, but I was so pleased to find the final deficit so small that I sent it along with a right good will.
I shall be very glad to leave it in the fund to pay my International dues of $5.00, and National dues, which we might call $3.00 for the sake of coming out even.
If I should send you a lot of material could you engage someone who would put it in my files and get it out of the way, or would you rather wait until I come to Washington myself.
It seems very nice to hear from you again.
Faithfully yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
