My dear Miss Addams:

After learning from you of the desire for a memorial, on the part of the residents and the mothers and children who were devoted to Mrs. Pelham [through] her connection with Hull House, it will give me pleasure to add to this memorial fund, from Mrs. Rosenwald and me, one thousand dollars ($1000.00), in order to secure a better building. The amount on hand appeared to be inadequate for the needs.
