My dear Miss Addams,
My sister who is since the 10th of December here in the hospital, wishes me to acknowledge your note and the [illegible] [matter?] you were kind enough to send her.
[Three] days ago her tonsils have been removed and as soon as the wound is healed we will have her at home again.
With best wishes for a happy new year also from my sister.
