Jan. 20, 1909.

My dear Mr. Commons:-

I shall, of course, be very glad to accept a membership on the General Committee of the International Association for Labor Legislation. In addition it carries with it a sort of an implication of a trip abroad which, however misleading, is still pleasant.

Our League here has done some valuable things, and the Association altogether interests me more than any other of which I am a member.

Hoping that you are coming to see us soon in Chicago, I am,

Very sincerely yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
Mr. John R. Commons,
Madison, Wisconsin.
