Geneva, 11th Nov 23.
Dear Miss Addams,
You should have seen the happy faces at this house on Nov 9th when your and Mrs. Lewis' cables arrived! -- All sections got the enclosed letter the same day, the most active ones got wires and our News Letter, containing a more definite instruction, will go out this week. I am anxiously waiting for the exact date of the Congress and trying hard -- if it can be done without great expense to get out a calendar for 1924.
The decision of the U.S. section seems to me at the same time [page 2] a very good sign of your good health and that is thrilling too! We hope to stir up the European Sections to do their share in making it a great success. I think America is now an excellent sail, well prepared to take in the seed of pacifism.
Ready to do the most possible to help in preparing the Congress.
