My dear Alice
I am sorry about the wedding, I remember only one letter in response to which I sent you the silver from the shop.
I thought that I had written of Miss Sarah Smith's death which took place in the late spring, I was there the night she died and and impressed to the very end with her patience and sweetness. We had a fine opening of the Juvenile Court yesterday, and I am [page 2] scurrying off to Hannibal tonight. I am sorry about the [Girard] trip but we will make it up by your visit here in Sept.
With love to Marcet and yourself Always your loving sister Jane Addams

P. S. I am sending two pictures I had taken with [Amello?], a little Italian boy who has been at the house a great deal this summer. One is for you & the other for Marcet.
