My dear Mr. Latham:

Is it possible to grant the translation rights to this Japanese lady without charge? I am always a little confused as to the method of procedure in granting permission for translation. I should be very grateful if you would write me so that I might communicate with her.

I have done something toward a new chapter for "Twenty Years at Hull-House" and shall send you an outline of it soon in order to have your opinion as to whether I should go on with it. Personally I am a little doubtful, thinking that the addition should be longer or nothing at all.

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
