January 24, 1922Miss Jane Addams,
Dear Miss Addams:
A bundle of copies of our February Graphic will go off to you as soon as they are from the press later in the week. The proof corrections came in time and are being made. With this I am enclosing our check for this second [installment] as we were really quite serious in our original offer which I am sure was a modest one. I only regret that we could not have handled more of the series and paid their author more in line with what, say, the Atlantic would have paid her.
