Dear Miss Addams

I enclose a letter from Vilma G. I am wondering & wondering if there is any way in which we could help her. Do you suppose [illegible] anything could be done through Gladys Vanderbilt [illegible] Countess [Széchenyi]? [page 2]

I have not got [that right]. I thought I could find it in Who's Who -- anyway I mean [this] was Vanderbilt and a Hungarian countess who was so active on relief. I thought you would probably know her.

Or conceivably there might be something to be attempted through the Hungarian & [presentations]. The most is our fears to do [illegible] rather than [give up stirring].

Yours hastily

E G Balch
