My dear Miss [Addams]: --
I have just read the editorial in today's tribune in reference to the work you are now doing for women and children the world over. You are making a great fight to prevent the competition between nations that largely produces war and poverty. Instead of, as the Tribune says, your being a "spoiled humanitarian," you have become a greater humanitarian and a great stateswoman and you now occupy a greater place in the hearts of Chicagoans and also in the hearts of the people of the entire world.
Very respectfully yours,
Henry Neil [signed]
