Saturday

Dear Miss Addams,

The matter of the Austrian credits is very much on my mind. I bring it in whenever I can when I speak or write anything. I have seen Manley Hudson about it, also Mr. Whitman, [illegible] in charge of the claims of persons holding Aust. & Hung. property in this country and I also wrote on Finally Prof Hudson's suggestion to Eliot Wadsworth & had a very pleasant reply from him.

Finally it appeared to me [page 2] that the only chance of [having] any effect would be to stir up a leading paper to really take the matter up so I have just sent a letter to the ↑Editor of the↓ Times of which this is an uncorrected copy.

I hope you approve.

And do make the matter [known] when and [if?] you can.

Helen Cheever and I are arranging a big (we hope) parlor meeting for Dr. [Clark] & Miss Pye. I [spoke] here last week at a dinner with Manley [page 3] Hudson presenting and it was really highly successful. But I cannot tell you how nice M. H. was, only quite too flattering.

Affectionately yours

Emily G. B.

I am sorry I stopped over yesterday and said I was tired. I renounce all such bad habits as being tired.
