Dear Marcet

We landed yesterday after rather a mean journey as far as fogs were concerned but quite safe withal.

I didn't indulge in "presents" this time but am sending these little duds for the kiddies. The jewelry for Josephine & Alice came from [Budapest], the sort of thing the young all wear there, & the whistle is for Henry in case he needs to call for help from [page 2] various parts of the farm. They can scarcely be called presents but they go with my love and best wishes. It seems a long time since I have heard from you, do write me a line to H.H. and let ↑me↓ know both about the family and the books.

Always devotedly yours

Jane Addams
