My dear Mr [Robins]

I am very glad to have here the [enclosed] and to know of your sister.

I certainly wasn't annoyed when you told me of her reading of my book -- but embarrassed. Any reference to that unhappy volume seems to throw me into a state approaching a childish panic.

I will refrain from mentioning the secretaryship at the Thursday meeting but I don't understand [page 2] the delay.
