ATHENS MARCH 31, 1921

MISS JANE ADDAMS PRESIDENT LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM HULL-HOUSE.

THE WOMEN'S CONGRESS OF ATHENS AND OF ITS BRANCHES IN THE GREEK PROVINCES MAKE A HEARTFELT APPEAL TO THE CONGRESSES OF THE WOMEN OF EUROPE AND OF AMERICA, BESEECHING THEM TO BE ONE IN THE THOUGHTS OF SADNESS AND CONSTERNATION WHICH AT THIS MOMENT ARE OVERWHELMING THE MINDS OF THE WOMEN OF THE WOMEN OF GREECE AND OF THE WHOLE NATION; AND TO PROTEST WITH THEM IN THE NAME OF COMMON SOCIAL JUSTICE AND HUMANITY TO THE GREAT POWERS SITTING AT THE LONDON CONFERENCE AGAINST EVERY DECISION WHICH FAILS TO SUPPORT THE SLIGHTEST OBJECTION TO THE DESTINY OF THE CHRISTIANS OF THRACE AND ASIA MINOR WHO ARE SUFFERING MASSACRE, RAPE AND HORRIBLE PERSECUTION AND WHICH THE TREATY OF SEVRES SOLEMNLY DELIVERED FROM THIS TYRANNICAL YOKE, AND REUNITED THEM TO GREECE (STOP) ANY ETHNOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION WHICH MAY BE ATTEMPTED IN THIS GRAVEYARD OF CHRISTIANITY WOULD BE FAIR AND JUST ONLY IF IT TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE GRAVES AND TRENCHES IN WHICH LIE MINIONS OF MEN AND WOMEN AND CHILDREN MURDERED BY THE FANATICAL AND BARBAROUS TURKS ON THE VERY GROUND WHICH IS STILL DAMP WITH THE STREAMS OF BLOOD OF THE GREEK SOLDIERS WHO DELIVERED THEM.

(SIGNED) CALLIRHOE PARREN

PRESIDENT GREEK WOMEN'S CONGRESS.
