My dear Stanley

It was very nice to have your good letter come on Christmas eve, the lovely picture of Jane is the nicest possible Christmas present and the products of the ranch gave us a very gay breakfast this morning. You have been very good to me this year as always.

I am sure that we are going to have a Christmas together some time, [although] it does seem long delayed. I am getting this off [tonight] with my love to all the dear family.
