WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM
January 11, 1921.
Dear Miss Addams,
I enclose herewith material that Mlle Mélin has sent us about her poor little village. This ought not to come on you, but I am hoping that you may know of some committee to whom you can turn the whole thing over with a prospect that this will not mean [it's] being pigeon-holed.
There was at one time a Commission in Boston appointed by the Mayor to consider reconstruction of French villages. As far as I know it never functioned. Mr. Ralph Adams Cram, 52 Chestnut St. of the Boston City Planning Committee is ↑or was↓ interested in it.
↑I will enclose a letter to [him] which you can send to him with the material if that seems to you the most promising "attack" -- I doubt however if he will really do anything.
Yours as always affly↓
E G Balch [signed]
↑I also enclose a copy of a letter I am sending to Mr. Duggan
[Mr.] McDonald (League of L. N. Assn)
[Mr.] Villard.↓
