Geneva, February 27th, 1920.
Dear ↑Miss Addams↓
I regret to say that Chrystal Macmillan has decided to resign from our Executive Committee. A copy of her letter to Miss Addams is enclosed herewith.
Our constitution makes no provision for replacing an officer who has resigned.
The Executive Committee must therefore decide what is to be done. Please let us have your vote on the following points as promptly as possible.
1) Shall the Executive Committee elect a successor to Miss Macmillan? If not, what do you think should be done.
2) If yes, do you think the Election should be left till the Executive Committee can hold a meeting?
3) If you think the Executive Committee should proceed now to replace Chrystal Macmillan please send at once to the Geneva Office two names representing your first and second choice.
Faithfully yours,
Emily Balch [signed]
