Dear Madam:

The papers this morning contain a report of your speech of protest yesterday against deportation of aliens without proper trial and conviction.

I am American born but I want to assure you of my approval & support. In years to come many Americans will be found to know that some representative people were not carried away by fear and still believe in the practice as well as the theory of free speech.

Please be assured of my admiration and accept my congratulations

Sincerely

L. L. Brande.
