My dear Mr. Maddox:

I am very much interested in the plans for Rockford College of which you wrote. I am afraid, however, that I cannot accept your kind invitation earlier than December.

Both this month and next are filled with speaking engagements, including several in the east. If you could kindly give me the choice of several dates in December or January, it would give me much pleasure to make the appointment.
