I am so exceedingly sorry about the newspaper accounts of yesterday's meeting of our League!

To exploit a legitimate difference of opinion for their own purpose is unfortunately typical of the Chicago press, and although you have suffered under their misconstruction these long years & always meet it with your rare patience of spirit, nevertheless, I must tell you again: I am so sorry!
