MISS MARY FRY
CEDARVILLE, ILL.

June 30" 1918

My dear Myra

I have been here over Sunday and brought Stanley's letters with me that I might read part of them to the family here. They are very dear and I thank you very much for sending them.

Mary Smith has been in the hospital for nine days having had an operation for an abdominal tumor. Every thing has gone very [page 2] well but of course we have been anxious and I have spent so much time at the hospital that I seem to have done nothing else for many days.

I am sorry that you didn't get off to Berkeley but I can well understand that you couldn't get off just now. I hope affairs will straighten out so that you can get off in time for the next term -- in the mean time do get all the rest you can.

Every one here sends their best love to you. I brought Eri out with me -- he has been a great pleasure to us all. With love to your household Always devotedly [written up right margin] [your] Aunt Jane.
