My dear Miss Addams:
In reply to your letter of December 18, we shall be glad to collect your expenses. We do not wish you to make this big cash contribution to the Government at this time when you are giving all that is in you for the good of the great cause.
We received your telegram in which you agreed to speak at the Food Administration exhibit in Chicago and will give the manager your choice of dates.
With my deep personal gratitude and compliments of the Season, I am,
Sincerely,
U.S. FOOD ADMINISTRATION
