January 19, 1918.
My dear Mrs. Burch:
Miss Addams has asked me to tell you how very sorry she is that you cannot consent to act as a member of the Board. She and I personally regret this very much. I realize, however, that you must be giving a very great amount of time to the work of the Woman's Party and that you feel it wiser not to divide your interests. Perhaps next year we may have you with us.
With best wishes, I am
Yours very sincerely,
Executive Secretary.
Mrs. W. Thompson Burch,
