Hull-House
800 SOUTH HALSTED STREET
CHICAGO
My dear Dr. Wise,
We missed you very much in Washington although, of course, we understood the uncertainty from the beginning. We really had a most successful meeting and a touching one withal. You were very good to think of Hull-House in connection with Mr. Gibson but my plans for this winter are necessarily so uncertain from day to day that I [page 2] think it might be better for him to come under more formal auspices.
I have sent your letter to Miss Monroe, editor of "Poetry" and I will want to cooperate with any one who is fortunate enough to secure him for Chicago.
With cordial greetings for the new year to Mrs. Wise and yourself, I am
Faithfully yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
