House of Representatives U.S.

Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago.
My dear Miss Addams:
I am sending this letter with enclosures to Hull House to be forwarded to you. I have had many people thank me for the book and compliment you and the other women on your work, in addition to the few letters herewith enclosed.
Although in the present state of the world, I feel the necessity of being prepared to resist and resent interference with our home affairs, by the strength of armament, this in no wise lessens my fundamental belief in the peace propaganda, as affording the only relief for a stupid, tired and suffering world.
Good luck to you.
Yours truly,
William Kent [signed]
