My dear Mrs. Cook:

Your letter to Miss Addams has been referred to this office since Miss Addams will be out of the city for some time, and I am answering at once to suggest to you that you might be able to work up a meeting in Silver City February 22nd, Washington's Birthday. The Woman's Peace Party is trying to arrange for mass meetings in as many places as possible through the country on that date, which seems an especially appropriate one for a meeting so truly patriotic in its purpose. We are sending to our various branches and organizations material which will make it easy for them to arrange for such a meeting, and I take the liberty of sending to you under separate cover copies of this material in the hope that you may be able to help along the good work.

I am also sending a copy of the recent Hearing before the House Committee on Military Affairs in which I am sure you will be interested.

Sincerely yours,

Office Secretary

Mrs. Irene Johnson Cook,
Silver City, North Carolina.
